Youth Safety

Prioritizing Youth Safety

The PGA of America and its 501(c)(3) charitable foundation, the PGA of America REACH Foundation, are committed to creating a safe, caring and organized environment for youth to enjoy golf.

The Protecting Young Victims from Sexual Abuse and Safe Sport Authorization Act of 2017 was created to expand existing mandated reporting laws to all youth sport organizations. In accordance with the Act, all PGA Coaches, Assistant Coaches and adult volunteers must pass a required background screening and complete the required Abuse Prevention Systems (APS) training prior to interactions with players.

Reporting Abuse

PGA Jr. League has partnered with Praesidium, Inc., an international leader in abuse risk management, to provide a confidential child safety helpline. This helpline provides anonymous access for parents, caregivers, coaches and children to report suspicious or inappropriate behavior regarding children.
