Region 5 Roundup: Mallard Creek All-Stars Taking Fourth Consecutive Trip to Championship

The Mallard Creek All-Stars are Championship-bound for the fourth year in a row! Captain Jim Wise, PGA, and Coach Chris Reed have led their All-Stars to victory again, complete with five returning 2017 All-Star team members.

In the Saturday morning session, the Northern Ohio PGA Section Champion Mallard Creek All-Stars captured their first win with a 12-0 victory over the Western New York PGA Section Champion Erie Palmer All-Stars. The Southern Ohio PGA Section Champion Columbus 1 All-Stars led the Tri-State PGA Section Champion Sharon League All-Stars 9 ½ to 2 ½, leaving both the Northern and Southern Ohio teams with 1-0 winning records.

The teams were in for a special treat in the afternoon: 

A surprise visit from the Ryder Cup!

The two Ohio teams met in the afternoon, with the Mallard Creek All-Stars moving forward with an 8 to 4 victory. Sunday morning, the Columbus 1 All-Stars defeated the Erie Palmer All-Stars 8.5 to 3.5 to finish runners-up.

Doug was a favorite starter among the All-Star teams for his famous Donald Duck impression!

1st: Mallard Creek All-Stars (3-0 Record, 31 Points)

2nd: Columbus 1 All-Stars (2-1 Record, 22 Points)

3rd: Sharon League All-Stars (1-2 Record, 10.5 Points)

4th: Erie Palmer All-Stars (0-3 Record, 8.5 Points)


First Place: Mallard Creek All-Stars


Third Place: Sharon League All-Stars


Runners-Up: Columbus 1 All-Stars


Fourth Place: Erie Palmer All-Stars
