It was an intensely rainy weekend at Firewheel Golf Park in Garland, Texas, but that didn’t stop the Axis All-Stars from punching their second ticket to the PGA Jr. League Championship presented by National Car Rental!

Last year, Hurricane Harvey threatened the Houston-based Axis All-Stars’ trip to their Regional, but the team escaped unscathed and captured the Regional for their first-ever trip to the Championship.

Rain quickly began falling non-stop on Saturday, which put a quick end to golf for the day. The first session resumed early Sunday morning, with the Southern Texas PGA Jr. League Section Champion Axis All-Stars besting the Sun Country PGA Jr. League Section Champion Albuquerque B All-Stars 11 to 1, and the Northern Texas PGA Jr. League Section Champion McKinney All-Stars defeating the Colorado PGA Jr. League Section Champion Timm Golf Academy All-Stars 7 ½ to 4 ½.

In the second session, the McKinney All-Stars extended their winning streak with a 7 to 5 win over the Albuquerque B All-Stars, as did the Axis All-Stars with a 9 ½ to 2 ½ win over the Timm Golf Academy All-Stars.

Play started early on Sunday morning to get in as much golf as possible.

Game Highlight:
