Some Impressive Shots from Junior Golfers This Season

Ty Ormsby, 11

Ty is on one of Highland Country Club’s #PGAJLG teams in LaGrange, Georgia, which is where he met Swedish professional golfer Fredrik “Freddie” Lindblom. Freddie practices in the Atlanta area during the summer to prep for the MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Tour.

Ty asked Freddie to teach him some of his flop shot tricks at the driving range, and the rest is history. We asked Ty how many takes were needed to get that perfect shot. His answer? “I don’t think I can count that high!” All that matters is that you got it on video, Ty.

Ty’s dad is Highland Country Club PGA Professional and PGA Junior League Golf Captain Todd Ormsby. Todd enjoys seeing the mentor/mentee relationship Freddie has with his PGA Junior League Golfers, but also appreciates those between players themselves. Ty is often paired with 7-year-old Carter Westmoreland, who he has taken under his wing. Soon enough, Ty hopes to teach Carter the tricks he learned from Freddie.

You can count Freddie as a PGA Junior League Golf fan, too! He added: “I played in a lot of team sports growing up in Sweden, like soccer and hockey, and I really miss that atmosphere. The PGA Junior League Golf concept is brilliant.”

Tatum Korte, 9

Tatum, a member of one of the Coal Creek Golf Course #PGAJLG teams in Louisville, Colorado, happened to be sporting her jersey when she gave some trick shots a go with her dad, Ryan.

Even cooler, a passerby asked a question about her numbered jersey, and Ryan used it as an opportunity to encourage them to take part in #PGAJLG next year!
