At Hermitage Golf Course, our PGA Jr. League sits at 70 junior golfers. We accept any and all boys and girls who are even slightly interested in playing the game of golf! Our main purpose is to show kids how FUN golf can be.
Each PGA Jr. League player is surrounded by 69 of who become his or her closest friends after summer is over. Twice a week we run a practice and an inter-squad match. Aside from the inter-squad competition, we also have a travel team consisting of 12 older juniors who visit other local courses and compete against their PGA Jr. League teams.
During practice, we try to keep the ratio 6:1 golfer to instructor and work on areas of the games the juniors struggled in the week before. We make sure to keep it fun, light and easy so the kids want to keep coming back. For the match days we make the juniors feel really special with printed cart tags, staged golf carts with hole numbers, printed scorecards, announcements on the microphone and pizza afterwards. Juniors, parents and spectators LOVE match days!
Our course owners, Mike and Barbara Eller, are incredibly generous with the course and golf carts, not charging fees for anything on match and practice days. They see it as a way for us to create a welcoming environment for juniors and their families. With five grandkids who play themselves, the Ellers treat all of the PGA Jr. League players as if they are their own.

PGA Jr. League is more than a program at Hermitage Golf Course… it’s a lifestyle throughout the summer. Parents and kids alike look forward to the summer evenings spent with PGA Jr. League at our facility!
